Solar Saves You Money
In many climates, solar pool heating is the most cost-effective use of solar energy, and can provide a payback sometimes in less than three years.  These systems are cost competitive with both gas and heat pump pool heaters, and they have very low annual operating costs.  The cost of heating a pool in the spring, summer, and fall months can run thousands of dollars, while a solar pool heating system can cost just pennies in comparison.

How It Works
A solar pool heating system works by pumping water through the filter, and then through the solar collectors, where it is heated before it is returned to the pool.  The collectors can also be used to cool the pool in hot climates by circulating the water through the collectors at night.  Systems include sensors and automatic valves to divert water from the collectors when the pool temperature is greater than the solar panel temperature.

There are many factors that help to determine if you are a good candidate for solar pool heating, including the size of your pool, the sunlight exposure of your home, the location and sizing of your existing pool equipment, etc., all of which require expertise in determining if solar pool heating is right for you.
